How Hexaciv writes and checks its questions
Hexaciv is a preparation site for the French civic exam. This page says where the questions and answers come from, how each one points to its official source, and what we do when someone reports an error.
The starting point: official texts
The Ministry of the Interior publishes the information on the exam, the official list of knowledge questions and the sheets by theme on its civic training site. We also rely on the order of 10 October 2025 and on Service-Public sheets. A fact that is in none of these sources does not go into an answer.
What we write ourselves
The knowledge questions start from the official list: for each one, we write the answer, the options and the explanation from the Ministry sheet where the answer is found. The Ministry does not publish the 12 situation questions of the exam. Ours are written by us in the same spirit, carry the label "Scène rédigée par Hexaciv" (a scene written by Hexaciv), and are not the real questions.
Every answer cites its source
In the correction, each answer links to the official sheet where it is found. Each guide on the site links to its official source and shows the date we last read it ("vérifiée le", checked on). When a rule depends on the language test, we cite the page of the body that runs it.
The sources we use
- Ministry of the Interior: general information on the civic exam
- Official list of knowledge questions, multi-year permit (CSP)
- Official list of knowledge questions, resident card (CR)
- Légifrance: order of 10 October 2025 (programme, tests and rules of the civic exam)
- Service-Public: sheet F11926, French level and civic exam for naturalisation
- Service-Public: news item A18713 on the civic exam
These sources are in French, as is the exam.
Languages
The official exam is in French. The English and Arabic explanations are written from the French text, and a button shows the French text next to them. A native Arabic speaker has not yet read all the Arabic texts: if a sentence looks wrong or clumsy, write to us.
Updates and corrections
When the Ministry changes a sheet, an order or a procedure, we correct the pages concerned and change their check date. If you think an answer is wrong, write to support@hexaciv.com with the question: we compare it with the official source, reply within one business day and correct the answer if the source proves us wrong.
What we do not do
- We publish no success rate and do not promise that you will pass.
- We do not give legal advice: the guides are general information, and the decision belongs to the prefecture.
- We do not present anyone as a reviewer or expert: a name will appear here only if that person has agreed in writing to be named and described exactly.
