Key points of the sheet

  1. The criteria are different. To study, they depend on your background and on the requirements of the training you want. To work, they depend on the job you want to do.
  2. Recognition is given only by the organisation where you want to study, or by the employer where you want to work.
  3. The certificate of comparability (attestation de comparabilité) is a document provided by the Centre Enic-Naric. Some places of education or employers ask for it. It is sometimes needed to apply for French nationality.
  4. First, check that your situation allows it. Prepare your documents and their official translations. Then submit your file on the Enic-Naric website.
  5. The fees are 20 € when you submit, then 100 € for the analysis. Asylum seekers, refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary or temporary protection do not pay.
  6. You receive the answer about 4 to 6 months after your application.
  7. These steps concern training of more than 200 hours and jobs that are not regulated. Lawyer, doctor, architect, mechanic and hairdresser are examples of regulated jobs.
